Holding On

Bailey Boy,

You are such a study in contrast.

The same little boy that wants to do it all himself- from putting on your own shoes and putting on Sophie's jacket to buttering your toast and dialing the telephone- is the same little boy who crawls into bed with Mommy and Daddy late at night and still loves to be carried.

Don't grow up too fast. For now and forever, there will be a place for you in our bed and our arms no matter how big you get.

Love,
Mommy

God Bless The Child

Bailey Boy,

I remember our first Thanksgiving together. How tiny you were at only a few weeks old. How unprepared I was for the whole Mommy thing. The food, the family, the way that you were passed from one set of loving arms to another.

How you have changed since then. Tonight, as you stood on your stool and tried your best to dry the dinner dishes, I said a prayer of thanks for that little baby who changed my life and my heart in countless ways. We haven't always gotten it right the first time. We haven't always had days full of laughter and smiles.

But, for now and forever, you will be one of my biggest blessings.
